Tweed

Masculine and moody. This dapper gent was painted using the vintage Kuppenheimer advertisements of yesterday as my inspiration. My favorite illustrator, JC Leyendecker was the king of making men look handsome in their finery. I tip my hat to him with this painting. Painted on vintage Irish herringbone tweed, this painting uses an eye catching combination of what is painted and what is unpainted. 30 x 40” in size. Note the detail photo for the treatment of the sides of the canvas. Here I have hand applied vintage upholstery tacks to create a one of a kind frame.
