Southern Pines Pastime
Here in Southern Pines, NC we have a lot of two things: golf (with Pinehurst as a neighbor) and horses.
The Moore County Hounds were established in 1914, so there is big time equestrian history here.
This painting is indeed a nod to one of my all time favorite illustrators, JC Leyendecker. I used his Saturday Evening Post cover as a reference.
