Moonlight Serenade
Recently I had the pleasure of spending a week at Zapata Ranch in Colorado (all 130,000 acres of it). One moonlit evening I sat outside to enjoy a glass of wine and the cool crisp air. Suddenly a sound, the warm, gentle sound of a horse eating grass. There he was, in the moonlight, as calm and relaxed - and gorgeous - as a wild horse can be.
To you my handsome friend, this painting.
Quiet, created with several glazes, this painting has the slightest blue in the night sky and green in the cool evening grass.
36 x 48” oil and cold wax on canvas. Gallery wrapped. The colors wrap around the canvas. No need for a frame.
