The Meet
This summer I had the wonderful experience of having a fox in my yard. I liked to think he was visiting me, but he was clearly visiting my bird feeder. Lucky for me I got to study him; his sleek movements and color, his thin muscular legs and quick black feet. Once I had painted him he was so focused I had to go out and buy another canvas to paint what he was focused on. It took a minute, then after a ride in the woods where I spotted a tiny fawn, I knew. Here they are, meeting for the first time. Diptych. A minimum of 72” long together, but you could space them whichever way you choose. 24” x 48” and 24” x 20”
